Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh
There are totally 17 Coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has announced the lockdown situations. They are promoting awareness about this novel virus through media. The state government stopped all travellers to other sates and arrives from other states. In Andhra Pradesh, the first corona case was found at Nellore. After that Visakhapatnam, Prakasam, Vijayawada. Day by day the coronavirus cases are increasing in Andhra Pradesh. The government of Andhra Pradesh has announced the lockdown throughout the state. Still, it is increasing. So to prevent this wide spreading of the virus, we need to clean our hands with soaps or alcohol-based sanitisers and washing clothes regularly and let them dry in the Sun.
The first case in AP was located in Nellore. This person was travelled from Italy and he was suffering from cough and immediately he was shifted to the isolation ward in the Government Hospital in Nellore. It was done on 12th March 2020. And on 06th March, he returned from Italy and tested for Coronavirus for positive. It was said by the Medical and Health Department in Amaravathi. After testing his blood samples at the virology lab in Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences in Tirupati, they conformed positive for COVID-19. He was in the isolation ward for 14 days he was discharged. Because he was stable and he was recovered from all his coronavirus symptoms. Five more people who were in contact with him were also tested positive and the hospital staff shifted them to the isolation ward.
In Visakhapatnam, there are three positive coronavirus cases. According to the officials, a 65-year-old man, who returned from Mecca to the city recently, tested positive. Originally a resident of the US, he returned to Visakhapatnam by flight after visiting Mecca. He also travelled by Kachiguda express to Hyderabad and visited his daughter and returned. He has now been isolated and being treated in the Chest Hospital in Visakhapatnam. According to district medical authorities, Visakhapatnam, over 100 teams have been formed to screen entire Allipuram area where the patient resided and nearly 8,000 houses will be screened for suspected coronavirus patients.
The day after getting the first case in Andhra Pradesh, the state government has taken a decision to fight against the novel virus. They are sending all the persons who are having symptoms of coronavirus like cold, cough, fever, tiredness, etc. to the isolated ward and testing them for coronavirus. If they are tested positive, the other people who are in contact with them are also testing and sending to the isolation ward. The state government repeatedly told that there is no panic about this coronavirus. All the recommended steps are taking to tackle this eventually. Speaking in Amaravati on Friday, Special Chief Secretary of Medical and Health Department, K Jawahar Reddy said, “The person who tested positive hails from Nellore and had recently returned from abroad. He along with his family members, their maid and her family members were quarantined.” A screening unit is in place at Vijayawada, while a full-fledged testing facility is being set up at Tirupati. Quarantine wards will also be made available at Visakhapatnam, Reddy said.
The government is saying that if any person coming from any other country or state or other places, they have to be tested and quarantined for 14 days if necessary. In every district, The police are doing much service to make the lockdown successful. They are roaming on the roads for the sake of the public to make them Stay at Home. And in social media, they are releasing many posts like “we are here for you, please stay home for us”. This means there are many doctors are trying to cure the affected people and if we are at home and this spread will be stopped and make our India as Coronavirus free India. So please stay at home for stopping this epidemic spreading of the novel coronavirus. The state government also announced that there are no exams for clss6 to class9 and they are directly promoted to the next classes without any examinations. The 10th Class examinations are postponed and they will update the date of the exam.
Dos and Don’ts
- All foreign returnees are advised home quarantine for 14 days and stay away from family members too.
- The waste generated (food wastes, masks, etc) by these members has to be packed in double bags and sprinkle bleaching powder on top, leave about an hour before disposal.
- The foreign returnees are advised to contact the doctor through 104 helplines for medical advice prior to visiting a hospital.
- As far as the general public is concerned, they are advised not to come in contact with any of the close relatives returning from foreign countries.
